From s- (< Latin ex-) + Late Latin lanceāre, present active infinitive of lanceō, from Latin lancea. Compare Italian slanciare, lanciare, French élancer, lancer, Venetian slansar, lansar.

Conjugation edit

This was conjugated like a regular verb, but with a change from -ç- to -c- before front vowels (i and e).
