Wolof edit

Etymology edit

From soppi +‎ -al. The suffix -i, already present in the base verb, regularly follows the added suffix -al, resulting in the compound suffix -ali.

Verb edit

soppali

  1. to change sth into sth
  2. to transform sth into sth

Usage notes edit

Always takes two objects (ditransitive). The base verb soppi is used as the monotransitive counterpart as in “to change sth”.
