subcube (plural subcubes)

1. (mathematics) A portion of a cube.

     A similar idea as above is applied to the volume meshing – the initial cube is split and independent instances of the volume meshing algorithm are run on the subcubes.

2. (computing) A subset of a cube (data structure).
