suit oneself (third-person singular simple present suits oneself, present participle suiting oneself, simple past and past participle suited oneself)

  1. To do whatever one wants to do.
    Synonyms: do one's own thing, help oneself, knock oneself out; (in the second person, as a reply) whatever floats your boat, you do you
    - Do you want to come out tonight?
    - No, I'm watching TV.
    - Okay. Suit yourself.

Usage notes edit

As a response in the imperative mood, suit yourself and several of its synonyms sometimes connote that the responder thinks poorly of the choice and implies a notion of very well, it's your loss.
