Borrowed from Omani Arabic تَنْجْوِيل (tangwīl), from Arabic زَنْجَبِيل (zanjabīl).[1]

From OAr, donor dialect probably *tangwīz; tangwī́l (N: 21) is close, and the word is absent from Reinhardt (1894). The form zangabil (M: 291) is evidently a recent borrowing from StAr zanjabil.
