Borrowed from Mexican Spanish tetela.

tetela (plural tetelas)

  1. A triangular-folded masa pocket, filled with ingredients, eaten in the states of Guerrero, Oaxaca and Puebla, similar to corn tortillas, sope and huarache, but with different fillings.
