thanatophobiac (plural thanatophobiacs)

  1. (medicine) One affected by thanatophobia; a person with a morbid dread of death.
    • 1922, Granville Stanley Hall, Senescence, the Last Half of Life, page 448:
Witry says that from his own practice he believes thanatophobiacs are almost always from the professional or upper middle classes, those from the lower classes meeting death with more stoicism than those of the upper.
