From Middle Vietnamese blào.

Even if this word was not derived from Chinese (cháo) (SV: triều) (since it is not possible to expain the labial-lateral ‹bl-› cluster attested in Middle Vietnamese with 潮), trào almost certainly received significant semantic influence from the Sinitic word.
