From Proto-Albanian *treuδ-, from Proto-Indo-European *trewd- (“to squeeze, crush, press”). Cognate to Latin trūdō (“to push, force, press”) and Gothic 𐌿𐍃𐌸𐍂𐌹𐌿𐍄𐌰𐌽 (usþriutan, “to burden”).[1]
