From Ancient Greek τῡρός (tūrós, cheese) +‎ -ine; surface analysis is nearly, although not quite, tyro- +‎ -ine (i.e., semantically valid although morphologically amiss; tyro- itself is derived from Ancient Greek τῡρός (tūrós, cheese)).
