From Middle English unswellen, equivalent to un- +‎ swell.

unswell (third-person singular simple present unswells, present participle unswelling, simple past unswelled, past participle unswollen)

  1. (obsolete, intransitive) To cease from swelling; sink from a swollen state; subside.
