From Middle High German ūȥkomen, from Old High German ūȥqueman, from ūȥ (out) + queman (to come). Cognate with German auskommen, Luxembourgish auskommen; compare Low German utkamen, Dutch uitkomen, English come out, Swedish utkomma, Danish udkomme.
