  1. (defensively) Why are you asking? Why do you want to know?.
    "I saw you in the chemist yesterday, what did you buy?" / "What's it to you?"
  2. Mind your own business; it's none of your business.
    "Hey, leave that girl alone." / "'What's it to you'?"

  • Usually used defensively, against someone who is being nosy.
  • Other pronouns are possible (e.g. "what's it to him"), but less common.
