From Proto-Basque *ziraR.[1] Possibly related to Celtiberian silabur, Proto-Germanic *silubrą (whence English silver), Proto-Slavic *sьrebro, and Lithuanian sidãbras. This appears to be a prehistoric Wanderwort.
