Dutch edit

Leucojum aestivum

Etymology edit

From zomer (summer) +‎ klokje (bellflower). Note that, despite its name, this plant is taxonomically not of the actual bellflower family (Campanulaceae); it owes its name solely to the bellflower-like appearance of its flowers. (It belongs instead to the Amaryllidaceae.)

Noun edit

zomerklokje n (plural zomerklokjes)

  1. summer snowflake, Leucojum aestivum
