Compare Tuvan хааш (xaaş), Tofa [Term?], Mongolian хаасууд (xaasuud, plural, a clan of the Darkhats). Probably related to Middle Mongol 康合思 (qangqas, a forest tribe who lived in the Yenisei River basin), which is recorded in The Secret History of the Mongols.
