From ܐܸܛܪܘܼܓܵܐ (iṭruggā, citron) +‎ ܚܸܠܝܵܐ (ḥilyā, sweet) coined as substitute for the common Arabism ܦܘܼܪܬܩܵܠܵܐ (purtqālā).
