Etymology 1 edit
From Proto-Albanian *aidzijā, cognate to Ancient Greek αἴξ (aíx) and Old Armenian այծ (ayc, “goat”), from Proto-Indo-European *h₂eyǵ- (“goat”).[1] The word may also be an ancient adjective like Ancient Greek αἴγειος (aígeios).[2]
