Usage notes
edit- In Early Modern German, denen was not rarely used before nouns, especially in a demonstrative sense. This latter use is still found in regional speech, often when emphatic: Mit denen Idioten will ich nix zu tun haben! (“I want nothing to do with those idiots!”)
