From Italian Giacobo or Sicilian *Giacubu (variants of Giacomo and Giacumu respectively), from Latin Iacobus, from Ancient Greek Ἰάκωβος (Iákōbos), from Hebrew יַעֲקֹב (yaʿăqōḇ).
