αἴγλη
See also: Αἴγλη
Ancient Greek edit
Etymology edit
The connection with Sanskrit एजति (éjati, “to tremble, shake”) has been rejected. The epithets of Apollo Ἀσγελατας (Asgelatas) and Αἰγλάτας (Aiglátas) are often compared. The epithets are probably from Pre-Greek. According to Beekes, the noun may be of Pre-Greek origin too.
