Etymology

Borrowed from Old Median *xšaθrapāwan- (literally “kingdom-protector”), which is cognate with Old Persian 𐎧𐏁𐏂𐎱𐎠𐎺𐎠 (x-š-ç-p-a-v-a /⁠xšaçapāvā⁠/); see there for more.
