Etymology

Inherited from Old Slovak hoc, from earlier hoďa, ultimately from Proto-Slavic *xotę. Cognate with Polish choć, Russian хотя́, хоть (xotjá, xotʹ), Slovak hoci and Ukrainian хоч (xoč).
