Bashkir edit

Etymology edit

Compare to Kazakh ертең (erteñ, tomorrow), Kyrgyz эртең (erteŋ, tomorrow), Southern Altai эртен (erten, tomorrow), Kumyk эртен (erten, morning), Khakas иртен (irten, morning), Tuvan эртен (erten, morning).

There are two plausible archetypes[1]: *erte-n, a historical instrumental case form of Common Turkic *ertä (morning), or a composition of Proto-Turkic *ẹ̄r (early; morning) + *taŋ (dawn).
