Etymology edit

Probably related to Hittite 𒌓𒉈𒂊 (ut-ne-e /utnē/, land, country). Martirosyan tentatively derives both from Proto-Indo-European *wédn̥. Ancient Greek οὖδας (oûdas, earth, soil) may also be related.
