մոզանամ
Old Armenian
editEtymology
editFrom *մոզ (*moz, “great, much, mighty, increased”), of unknown origin, + -ան- (-an-). Jahukyan proposes an Iranian derivation: compare Avestan 𐬨𐬀𐬰- (maz-, “large, great”), Sogdian [script needed] (mzʾγ-), Northern Kurdish mezin.
Verb
editմոզանամ • (mozanam)
- (transitive) to become large or mighty, to increase
Usage notes
editThe evidence is scarce, and there are reading variants մողացեալ (mołacʻeal) and մոռացեալ (moṙacʻeal). The word should be regarded as uncertain.
