From Parthian 𐭐𐭕𐭊𐭓 (ptkr /padkar/, image) or Middle Persian 𐭯𐭲𐭪𐭫 (patkar, pahikar), with the same meaning. Compare Persian پیکر (paikar) and Old Persian [script needed] (patikarā), composed of [script needed] (patiy, against) and [script needed] (kar-, to do, make).
