Coined by Eliezer Ben-Yehuda based on a Biblical Hebrew root, נ־פ־ץ (n-p-ts).

  1. a bomb
  2. (by extension) a bombshell (something that is very surprising, shocking, amazing or sensational)
  3. (slang) Someone who is very physically attractive; a bombshell.
  4. (slang) Something amazing or beautiful; the bomb.
