    كَانَ فِي بَغْدَادَ، أَبْهَى عَوَاصِمِ الْبِلَادِ، مَدِينَةِ النُّورِ وَالْمَجْدِ، شَيْخُ ٱسْمُهُ نُعْمَانُ يُتَاجِرُ فِي التُّمُورِ وَالْجِيَادِ
    kāna fī baḡdāda, ʾabhā ʿawāṣimi l-bilādi, madīnati n-nūri wa-l-majdi, šayḵu smuhu nuʿmānu yutājiru fī t-tumūri wa-l-jiyādi
