editInherited from Old Punjabi ਸਨੇਹਾ (sanehā), from Prakrit 𑀲𑀁𑀤𑁂𑀲 (saṃdesa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit संदेश (saṃdeśa). Doublet of سَنْدیْش (sandeś) and سَنْدیسا (sandesā). Cognate with Pahari-Potwari سنہا (sanhā), Sindhi سنيهو (saneho).
