From Proto-Turkic *tiālak, analyzable as from Proto-Turkic *tiāl (spleen, milt) +‎ ـاق (-ak, noun and adjective diminutive suffix); cognate with Azerbaijani dalaq, Bashkir талаҡ (talaq), Turkmen dalak and Uzbek taloq. See also Uyghur تال (tal), Yakut таал (taal) and Proto-Mongolic *delixün.
