Borrowed from Classical Persian فرما (farmā) +‎ ـنا (-nā, verbal suffix).

فَرْمانا (farmānā) (Hindi spelling फ़रमाना)

  1. (formal) to bequest, request; to utter, say graciously
    درست فرمایاdurust farmāyārightly said
  2. (formal) to say, go ahead; used to show respect
    فرمائیےfarmāiyego ahead (frequently used on the telephone)
  3. (formal) In compound verbs, used as a substitute for کرنا (karnā, to do), especially in the imperative, to show respect
