The noun كُحْل (kuḥl) is borrowed from Aramaic כוחלא‎ / ܟܘܚܠܐ(kuḥlā), from Akkadian 𒉌𒌓𒋆𒁉𒍣𒁕 (/guḫlu/, antimony, stibium). Everything else of this root ك ح ل(k-ḥ-l) is denominal.
