From Proto-Indo-Aryan *dʰíH, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *dʰíH, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰíh₂, zero-grade of *dʰeyh₂- (mind, thought). Cognate with Proto-Slavic *dȋvo (miracle).
