    Inherited from Prakrit *हलुक्क- (halukka-) + -𑀓- (-ka-), from *हलु- (halu-) + -𑀓𑁆𑀓- (-kka-), from—undergoing metathesisलहु (lahu, light, small). Cognate with Nepali हलुको (haluko), Bengali হালকা (haloka). Related to Old Hindi लहु (lahu, light, small).[1]
