Usage notes edit

  • Like Nihongo in English, 日本語日本语 (rìběnyǔ) is usually restricted to linguistic and language learning contexts, whilst 日文 (rìwén) and 日語日语 (rìyǔ) are more commonly used in written and conversational situations respectively.
