  1. A grey-green powder used orally or externally in traditional Chinese medicine "to remove toxic heat, to promote subsidence of swelling and alleviate pain when there is painful swelling of the throat, ulcers in the mouth and on the tongue, painful swelling or bleeding of the gingiva, tonsillitis, aphtha, children’s thrush, scald and light fire burns, bleeding due to injury, acute and chronic laryngopharyngitis, tonsillitis, stomatitis and ulcer in the oral cavity".
