Etymology edit
Morphologically from *grebti. From Proto-Indo-European *gʰrobʰos. Cognate with Gothic 𐌲𐍂𐌰𐌱𐌰 (graba, “ditch, trench”), Old High German grab (“grave”) and English grave.
