- 1998 September 21, storml...@hotmail.com, “Re: Dark Nasal in: WRITING ON EMPTY”, in alt.tv.x-files[1] (Usenet):
- It probably makes no sense to folks here who know nothing of my argument with an author who tries to elicit attention by writing shockfic in which she offs Mulder and Scully, or they off each other, in excruciatingly gory detail.
- 1998 October 5, Sheryl Martin, “Re(2): NEW While We Burned by MulderPhile [NC-17, MS] 1/1)”, in alt.tv.x-files.creative[2] (Usenet):
- I would suggest to MulderPhile that if she wishes to continue posting to move to a less notorious email addy so that there is no doubt that she is a responsible adult and not just someone trying to get a rise out of the readers by posting what I call "Shockfic" for lack of a better phrase...unfortunately, the addy tends to add a certain odor to the post, no matter what you think of the story...
- 1998 December 27, Bullen's, “REPOST "A keychain in the snow" 1/2”, in alt.tv.x-files.creative[3] (Usenet):
- There is no insecurity or hidden meaning about the warnings on this story, its her first fanfic that she has posted, and I didnt get to see which warnings she was putting on before it was posted. It isnt shockfic, I mean the ending isnt exactly a total surprise, we just made a mistake ok????
Noun: "(countable, fandom slang) an individual fanfic of this genre"
