      In the first act Giselle's cottage and Albrecht's hut look too Disneyish, while the architecture of the background castle is reminiscent of the high baroque of the monastery at Melk and clashes with the costumes.
    • 1989 May 29, New York Magazine, The Rainbow, volume 22, number 22, page 65:
      At the end, there's an appearance by the famous stampeding horses, much loved by academic explicators, and a big rainbow, seemingly painted in the sky in Disneyish candy colors.
