Blend of gorilla + American Sign Language. Coined by Francine "Penny" Patterson, president and research director at the Gorilla Foundation.
Proper noun edit
- A personally modified form of American Sign Language intended for communication with gorillas, especially some of those that are subjects of research at the Gorilla Foundation.
