Etymology edit

Equivalent to *loviti (to hunt) +‎ *-ъ. From Proto-Indo-European *leh₂w- (to capture, enjoy). Akin to Proto-Germanic *launą (award), whence German Lohn and from there Slovene lọ̑n (payment).
