IMO Dutch gelijkspanning is not a translation of DC. The C in the abbreviation stands for current (stroom), not voltage (spanning). D.D. 13:34 May 14, 2003 (UTC)

I concur. Text removed: "gelijkstroom (What flows through the wires and the resistance); frequently (but mistakenly) translated as ". DC==Direct current, which has nothing to do with current (in amperes) but is instead a type of voltage (as opposed to alternating current) which makes translation of the term(s) understandably nightmarish. --Connel MacKenzie 03:52, 25 July 2005 (UTC)Reply
