Unstable links to Google books quotations? edit

Noting for those who come after ... When I came to this entry and clicked the first quotation link, Google returned an error. THE PROBLEM (I believe) has to do with the fact many books have "limited previews" ... which means Google tracks how much a particular reader gets to see ... and part of that has to do with how the link is constructed. BOTTOM LINE: I don't know if we will ever be able to count on links to Google books as being stable. All I know is that the link I tried first, failed. (This may, or may not continue to be a problem.)

I have (for now) corrected the links (and added wikipedia links for the authors). Transborder 10:06, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Citations RFC edit

@-sche I notice that -sche-bot requested cleanup of this term's citations page back in 2012. Does it look to you like it still needs cleanup? If so, in what way? — excarnateSojourner (talk · contrib) 19:40, 24 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

The quotations are not formatted to WT:" standards, e.g. one of the first cites just lists a date, a bare link, and then the author, and puts the title of the quoted song underneath as part of the quotation, many others lack page numbers. - -sche (discuss) 07:35, 1 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
