isnt chiaroscuro also a literary term? I wouldnt know what it is supposed to mean. All i know is that my honors english teacher told me it was. But i cant seem to find a definition for it that word refer to it as a literary device. Any ideas about what she could mean?

I looked this work up because it appeared in line 12 of a poem "Poets I Have Followed Around" by R.B. Morris. I think his intention in the use of the word is also literary. I found a web resource that says the Oxford English Dictionary defines chiaroscuro in the third definition as: Used of poetic or literary treatment, criticism, mental complexion, etc., in various obvious senses, as mingled ‘clearness and obscurity’, ‘cheerfulness and gloom’, ‘praise and blame,’ etc.[[[[[1]]]]]

Challenged definition: Adjective: (figuratively) Possessing the qualities of a painting painted with the chiaroscuro technique.
The challenged definition has no citations. Also, it is either a self-referential definition or one using the noun attributively.
