PoS header says 'Adjective', but defined as a verb. The single two-word "cite" is consistent with either. It would be nice to have cites for both adjective and verb, if it is real. DCDuring (talk) 03:24, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

- It turns out that our definition is more than 2 1/2 centuries old, appearing in Noah Webster's 1831 dictionary, which apparently copied it verbatim from Samuel Johnson's 1756 dictionary. The Glanvill quote is from a 1665 work, and is rather... peculiar... by modern standards. I can see why later references limited it to just the two words. - I have what may be the original source (a 1961 translation of William Harvey's 17th C. Latin) of the 2014 quote. It looks pretty good now. I won't ask to cite these older things too often, only if they really look uncitable or, as in this case, there are definition issues. DCDuring (talk) 18:53, 1 December 2019 (UTC)
