"Lays" is used in an interesting sense in the hymn "Oh Worship the King":

O measureless Might, ineffable Love,
While angels delight to hymn you above.
The humbler creation, though feeble their lays,
With true adoration shall sing to your praise.

What does it mean? 196.210.233.38

I think it is from the now obsolete definition of (deprecated template usage) lay meaning (deprecated template usage) song, which would fit with the surrounding text, the angels ... hymn and the humbler creation ... sing. - [The]DaveRoss 21:43, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
