"Stockinging"? 18:28, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

That is not a word. It would be helpful to have and image of noun sense 3 of "stocking", for the first two are fairly straightforward. -- 23:35, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
Material for stockings (as far as I can tell). 1865, The Youth's magazine, or Evangelical miscellany (page 62): "When I was a young man, matter of two or three and twenty, I'd saved two or three pounds, for stockinging was uncommonly good when we were at war with Napoleon, so I thought I'd go to see my friends at Market Harborough." But it seems extremely rare, perhaps a nonce word. Equinox 02:49, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

RFV-sense "to dress in stockings". - -sche (discuss) 23:25, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

The noun sense "Something like or suggesting such a garment." seems dubious too. Mglovesfun (talk) 08:28, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
