Talk:verisimilitude

We were having a difficult time this weekend coming up with a simple way of remembering what this word means, so we decided on "very similar, dude."

A quibble... edit

But I'd suggest striking the word "merely" from the 2nd definition.

The whole point of verisimilitude is that it is the appearance of truth... not necessarily true, but also not necessarily untrue. Something can have verisimilitude, and be true, just as it can have verisimilitude, yet be false.
