editCertainly the last "pronunciation" given was wrong. No one who would see/understand this word would pronounce the -e- as a long E. That said, the OED is probably also wrong. I'd imagine the default (at least in American English) would be to pronounce the adjective this way but the obsolete noun as rhyming with "airy". — LlywelynII 01:15, 12 January 2024 (UTC)
